McCann promotes Tommy Smith to managing director publish

Tommy Smith, McCann London’s joint head of enterprise management, has been promoted to managing director of the company. He replaces Jessica Tamsedge, who left on the finish of 2022 to turn into UK CEO of Dentsu Artistic.

Smith will sit on the administration crew and report back to London CEO Polly McMorrow. He’ll be accountable for day-to-day administration of the company and can proceed to run the worldwide Simply Eat Takeaway account, in addition to Nestlé Cereals and Wimbledon.

He joined McCann London as a managing associate in 2016, transferring from his position as account director at Fallon. With Simply Eat, he’s been a part of a crew that’s created some good, common promoting, delivering the “Did any person say Simply Eat?” line by means of stars like Snoop Dogg and Katy Perry.

Susan O’Brien, VP model at Simply Eat, provides a formidable endorsement. She stated: Tommy is our absolute associate in enterprise. Good, dedicated and collaborative. He understands us as individuals as a lot as he does our enterprise, and we’re enthusiastic about his subsequent step at McCann.”

Smith stated: “It is a new chapter for me and the company, and one I’m extremely excited to be part of. Being entrusted with a place that may play a vital position in impacting our tradition, our enterprise and our purchasers’ enterprise isn’t one thing I take frivolously.”

His appointment introduces a longer-standing McCann member into the management crew, which has been refreshed over the past yr or so to herald Polly McMorrow from BBH, CSO Nusara Chinnaphasaen and COO Jemima Monies from adam&eveDDB. Chief artistic officers Rob Doubal and Laurence Thompson joined in 2012.
